The Musician Behind the Scores

My background includes electric bass advanced studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam where I specialized in latin-jazz.

I had formal training in classical double bass, trombone and sound engineering in Madrid.

Over the years, I’ve also learned from leading musicians such as Richard Bona, Gary Willis, Guillermo Klein and Andy González to name a few.

I’ve been directing ensembles since 2009, including my work at the University of Cádiz and leading regular combo workshops at El Musicario association.

As a as a bass player, I’ve collaborated with artists such as Chano Domínguez, Jorge Pardo or Julián Sánchez among others.

I regularly play and record in projects ranging from jazz and latin music to rhythm & blues and brass band formats playing electric bass, trombone or trumpet.

This ongoing work with real groups and my wide point of view as a multi-instrumentalist is at the core of everything I write.

Educator

I’ve been teaching bass, music theory and ensembles in School of Modern Music and Jazz at the University of Cádiz since 2009.

UCA School of Modern Music and Jazz

This experience enables me to write clear, well-structured and musically solid scores that work effectively in real teaching environments.

El Musicario

Each year, I write and develop around 90 arrangements on different styles for these large ensembles.
More than 50 musicians of different levels.
I focus on creating practical, well-structured scores that are easy to rehearse, adaptable, and effective on stage.

Arranger

Since 2014, I have been creating and leading combo workshops at El Musicario, working hands-on with musicians and refining my arrangements through real rehearsal and performance.

Musician

I’ve never limited myself to a single style, working across jazz, blues and latin music as an active performer.
Playing regularly as a bass player or trombonist on stage keeps my work grounded in real performance needs: balance, groove and clarity.
This experience translates into scores that are practical, playable and designed to work in real musical situations.

What Sets These Arrangements Apart

Real Experience

Every arrangement comes from a working musician who understands the challenges of rehearsals, performances, and ensemble dynamics.

Battle-Tested

No arrangement is published until it’s been rehearsed and performed with real ensembles—ensuring balance, playability, and musicality.

Educator’s Eye

As a teacher, I create arrangements that are pedagogically sound— challenging enough to develop skills, accessible enough to perform well.

My Approach to Arranging

There’s a gap between what’s commercially available in music arrangements and what ensembles actually need to sound their best. Many arrangements look great on paper but fall apart in rehearsal—impractical passages, bad sensible page turns, poor balance between sections, or writing that doesn’t suit the rage instruments.

My goal is to bridge that gap. Every score here has gone through a rigorous process: written, rehearsed with real musicians, performed live, and refined based on what actually works. When you purchase one of my arrangements, you’re getting something that has been proven on stage.
